Tube / Docklands Light Railway

The nearest station is Shadwell, on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), only one stop east of Bank. Tower Hill is the nearest tube station (circle and district line). N.B. Shadwell tube is temporarily closed until mid 2010.

Journey time from Shadwell DLR: 2 minutes:
1) At the bottom of Shadwell DLR station stairs, at the road bear left onto Watney Street. Walk 30 metres to Cable Street at the T-junction.
2) Turn right and when you are opposite the bus stop, 150 metres later, cross Cable Street. After the converted pub (Britannia), Bluegate Mews is the next residential block. Enter the square arch and press '14' on the keypad on the left.

Journey time from Tower Hill tube & DLR: approximately 10 minutes:
1) Exit Tower Hill and turn left towards Tower Gateway DLR.
2) Walk away from Tower Gateway and head down Shorter Street (un-signposted), first street on your left on corner of 41 Tower Hill.
3) Cross the junction into Royal Mint Street (keep the DLR railway on your left) and walk for 500 metres (crossing Dock Street and Cannon Street Road). Bluegate Mews is then located 100 metres on the right, through a square arch. Press '14' on the keypad on the left.
